I am a PhD student and Oxfam volunteer, trying to fundraise to build a bridge in a small village in northern Albania - see www.albaniabridge.co.uk. We need to raise 14,000 pounds and have 4,000 so far.

The bridge is sorely needed by the village as it is divided in two by a deep gorge. When the waters are too high, half the village is cut off from essential services such as medical care, school, and access to market.

The fundraising is hard work! I have met some amazing people through this experience, but sometimes it is hard to stay motivated when progress is so slow, so any monetary donations would be kindly received.
