Description
If you like custard, then you will love this South African Melk Tert (milk tart). It is very quick and easy to make and will round a lovely meal off nicely.
Instructions
Bring the milk to the boil in a pan. Meanwhile, mix the cornflour, sugar, flour, salt and egg together.
When the milk is boiling, slowly pour it on to the flour mixture, whisking all the time. Return to the pan and cook until the mixture thickens. This will take 1-2 minutes.
Remove from the heat and beat in the margarine or butter and the vanilla extract.
Pour the custard mixture into the pastry case. Sprinkle with cinnamon and leave to cool. Chill in the fridge before serving.
Notes
Add blueberries on top of the tart to taste.
